So, back in 2014, there was a private gathering of a bunch of Skippers happening down in Orange County, and I was asked to come out and hang out. Little did I know I would get 3 solid episodes out of it, and some great insight into the late 80's and early 90's at Disneyland.
Skipper Ed Cunningham had been a long time friend of the show, but we had never really managed to get him in front of the microphone. Skipper Dave Champagne was a delight, and was a great storyteller. I really enjoyed all 3 of these episodes, and hearing some voices from that era.

Here's our second half of our intervifew with Skipper Jeff Rhoads. Jeff has helped us out so much over hte years with guest acquisition and information, that we really feel like we owe him a genuine debt of gratitude... He's a heck of a guy.
Sorry for the late update on these. I got back from Aulani and then had 8 days straight of work, which then led me to a really bad upper respiratory infection. Trudging through it now, starting to feel better. Thanks for the patience.

The third season of the podcast started off with some of the best content that we have had, and some truly amazing Skippers. When we got to the 8th episode, I didn't know what to expect. Skipper Jeff Rhoads is a bit of a mild mannered chap at first, but that soft spoken nature led to some amazing (and sometimes unbelievable) stories about his time at Disneyland in the 70's. He was a fan and historian of the attraction, and his love of the Jungle is clear. So many other Skips came to me after my interview with Jeff, and I feel so lucky that I was able to share in his experiences at Disneyland...

When you are involved in any project as long as this, you will always get asked what your "Favorite" episode is. While there are a lot of episodes that I am really proud of, none of them in my opinion meet the standard that Skipper John Duran set forth. This episode is powerful, connected, funny, and most of all is a great chance to meet an amazing man. Mayor and Skipper John Duran is as charismatic of an individual as I have ever met, and his history both with Disney, and in the West Hollywood community is a fantastic story. I was really lucky to get this hour with him, and I think we made the most of the time. I really hope you all enjoy...

To say that Skipper Sue B is a legend amongst 1990's Jungle Cruise Skips would be an understatement. A fierce proponent of the rights of female Cast Members, a fearless leader in the area, and... oh... yeah, the first of the ladies to permanently earn their homes on the Jungle boats. Sue is a fantastic lady, and I was so glad to get her on board.
Oh, and Skipper Tim Meltreger has done some stuff too. I mean, some pretty cool stuff. But he's no Sue B.

Our marathon of reruns continues, as we review all of our episodes one last time. This week, it's the second half of our episode with the incredible Skipper Laura. Besides being one of the first female Skips on the river, she also knows how to tell a great story, and we spin our yarns back to the 90's at Disneyland... enjoy!

This episode holds a very close spot to my heart. Skipper Laura Huff was not only an amazing Skipper, and one of the first 4 ladies to become a Skip in 1995, but since this taping she has become one of the closest and dearest friends that I have. There's an amazing bond that happens with Skips, even if you were a different generation, and this lady is amazing.
The episode was a solid two parter as well, and I feel like we got a lot of the Eisner era changes in this episode, and what it was like working in the mid 90's. A lot of name dropping of other amazing people who worked on the rivers, but just a solidly fun episode, and one of my first Skype interviews that didnt have audio issues.
