Here is the second half of our time chatting with Skipper Chris Egan, and going back to his time at Disneyland's Jungle Cruise.
(The following is the original post announcing this episode on July 8th, 2014)
Well, we've come to another year, here at the Jungle Crews. (Technically it's August 1st, but there's a reason we're calling this the last episode of the year... read on.)
This episode we are back with the second half of our interview with Skipper Chris Egan, a man of two worlds... Disney and Knotts. Each one fighting for survival within him. Which shall win? The world may never know.
Anyway, the other reason we're calling this the last episode of the year is that in 2 weeks, we start a 3 part series with a truly amazing gentleman. He was part of Jungle history from 1981 to 2003, and this is a super special chat with someone who means a lot to so many at Jungle. So, join us on July 22nd to find out who will be starting our 4th year telling these stories.
Thank you, as always, for being so incredibly supportive. Our numbers are the best they've ever been, and we have such fantastic listeners. If you have any comments you want read on the 4th anniversary show, send us an Email at JungleCrews@gmail.com.

Skipper Chris Egan was (sort of) a contemporary of mine, as we overlapped in 2007 or so. At this point in the podcast history, we had just come off a long run of Skips from the 70's and 80's, and I wanted to have something "different" if I was going to feature Skips from the 00's. Chris definitely brought that, as he at the time was a current Knotts Berry Farm employee, and he was able to give us some interesting perspectives on working at both places.
(the following is the original post from the June 4th, 2014 episode description)
Hello out there to all the members of our Podcast family! Is it time for another podcast?
This week we're chatting with a very recent JC cast member. Skipper Chris Egan was at the Jungle Cruise from '07 to '09. So why are we chatting with yet another member of the post-millennial Skipper generation? Well, it's because Chris is the first cast member we've had who also works at Knott's Berry Farm, and we get to chat about his experiences as free form roaming entertainment there.
This one is part 1 of 2 episodes, and we'll have part 2 up on July 8th. After that, we should have a very special treat on tap for you, and I'm making all the last arrangements for a truly fantastic interview.

Skipper George Trullinger was an icon of his era. Not only is he currently a channeler of celebrity personality, (I understand that the term "impersonator" has fallen out of favor) but he also is a musician and a darn great guy. The people that worked with him speak of him with great reverence, and he showed his incredible character by taking a 1 hour break from his family when he was at Disneyland and coming over to Trader Sam's to record a podcast with us. The funny part was that Skipper Fred Eich just happened to be in the area and joined us, totally out of the blue. It led to a really fun episode with some very iconic Jungle stories.
(The following is the original posted description of the episode...)
Hey Adventurekateers, it's time for more Skippertainment! (Yeah, I know, I'm sorry about both of those words...)
So, this week we sit down with Skipper George Trullinger. Buddy Holly impersonator, competitive eater, and winner of the Newberry award for young readers. Well, one of those things, anyway... he's also an incredibly nice guy, and has more stories than we could ever cram into an hour long podcast.
But we tried. For you. Because... You.

Here is the second half of the episode with our friend from the 70's, Kevin Cavanaugh. The ending bit of this episode is one of my favorite moments, as we get an interesting story about Kevin and Gene Roddenberry...

So, this is the first of a two-part episode with Skipper Kevin Cavanaugh. Kevin worked in the Jungle in 1975 and 1976, and is the Skipper who worked at the Jungle the earliest in it's history, of all the people we've sat down with. We had a great chat about his time there, and it's amazing how so much of his story mirrors what we hear from people who trained at Disneyland 40 years after.
New notes: Kevin Cavanaugh, in the 4 years since his interview, has been one of the most affable and amazing Skippers to have met and called a friend. I keep running into people from the same era that worked with him, and universally everyone remembers him with such fondness. Plus, he baked me an Irish Soda bread that was so incredibly good, and gave it to me as a welcoming gift to the podcast.

We are so chock full of Skippertainment today. We've got Jungle Jesse himself on the podcast! Back to the late 90's and early 00's for a fun romp through pop culture where we discuss cosplay, the mating habits of Disney waterfowl, the future of Disneyland, and some great Jungle stories. (This one is the first episode in a year to get the "Explicit" tag, but it's not too bad...)
New Notes: So, this episode name was one of the very few times I was ashamed that I couldn't figure out a better pun or title for the episode. Jesse deserved better. He's also still a heck of a nice guy, and I am really happy that our paths crossed so many years ago.

This week we have our last part of the 3 part nostalgia fest that was the March, 2014 gathering at the Casa De Mez. We chat with John Malloy, who is just SO adorable. Like, seriously, I would have loved to have worked with him. And of course, the beautiful and well opinionated Sue B joins us as well. We also have a half dozen other great people bouncing in and out of this episode...
So, I don't think we really *have* to say this any more, but this episode features a few stories that are too salacious for the wee ones. But, seriously, are there any kids who come across our podcast and actually think it's for them? (Although, frankly, I'd be happy to have the extra listeners...)
(and yes, I am just cutting and pasting the old descriptors onto the episodes when I don't have anything in particular to say...)

So, huge apologies everyone. The podcaster publisher decided to eat a couple of published episodes, so let's get them back into the hopper.
Here's part 2 (of 3) of our sit down with the Skippers I got to meet in March, 2014. Skippers Jerry and Jim sat down with us to talk about their time in the Jungle in the early 80's to mid 90's. These guys were very warm and funny, and we got into a lot of areas we hadn't been able to hit in the past.
